Taking Flight...on our way to First Championships Houston

2017 Chairman's award photo

As we head out for US First Championships Houston, we’d like to take a moment to thank all the sponsors, mentors, families and team members that have made this an amazing season for our team.

We won our first regional at the first inaugural San Francisco Regional held at St. Ignatius College Prep just a few weeks ago along with our alliance members Team 254, The Cheesy Poofs, from Bellarmine and Team 4990, Gryphon Robotics from Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough. We also took home the Creativity Award!

At our next tournament, the Silicon Valley Regional, our team earned the prestigious award, the Regional Chairman’s Award, for our impact on our community and on FIRST! Wyn Schuh, our senior mentor, also received the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award!

We are now getting ready to head to Houston for the US First Championships Houston on April 18. More than 50 team members, mentors and parents are traveling to Houston to help support the team, in the pits, out on the field, in the stands, scouting and behind the scenes keeping everyone fed and taken care of. Thank you to everyone in advance!

The pits open on Wednesday, April 19 at 4pm, followed by Practice Matches at 6pm, CDT (2 hours earlier than Mountain View, CA local time.) Qualification Matches begin on Thursday, April 20 at 8:30am (CDT.) The tournament ends on Saturday, April 22 at 8:00pm CDT.
