On to St. Louis!

There was tough competition at the Silicon Valley Regional but we earned a spot to the Championship Event in St. Louis.

We got off to a slow start on Friday morning but then hit our stride and the robot and team began working well. We ended up ranked 4th, were picked by the #3 ranked team, 2085, the RoboDogs from Vacaville CA, and were joined by 649 from Saratoga High. After some great quarter and semi final matches, we ended up playing the #1 seeded alliance with teams 254 from Bellarmine and 1678 from Davis CA in the final elimination matches. Their robots and teams are amazing so our alliance had to play hard in the matches against them.

Even though our alliance lost, it performed well and earned a wildcard slot at the Championship Event. The can grabbing face off in the first final round was something. Our robot got both cans but there was a tug of war for one of the cans and our robot ended up making two stacks while dragging around a recycle can and a broken arm.

Now it is time to catch up on sleep, homework, and start preparing for St. Louis.  There will be 600 teams competing there from around the world.  It should be amazing.
