Here's Jay's 1/4 scale model of the pyramid. How would you make a robot climb it?
You get 10 climbing points for getting to Level 1 (off the ground), 20 points for Level 2 (where the lowest part of the robot is above the first rung), or 30 points for Level 3 (where the lowest part of the robot is above the second rung), but only if the robot climbs by contacting the PYRAMID levels sequentially (Level 0, 1, 2, 3) and contacting no more than two (2) Levels simultaneously. The robot must remain within a cylinder that's 84" tall x 54" diameter.
Team 971 has a new organizational structure this year, with a student+mentor Leadership Council. It's a joy to see students learning project management skills by doing it together with experienced engineers (like I did).
