On Saturday, the 31st, we won the FRC Silicon Valley Regional with the assistance of team 254, the Cheesy Poofs, and team 766, the Menlo-Atherton Bears. We were the first seeded team after the qualification matches, and we went on to pick team 254 and then team 766 to join our alliance. We then won all of our elimination matches undefeated, culminating in two exciting finals matches against an alliance of team 1868, the Space Cookies, team 3256, the WarriorBorgs, and team 751, Barn 2 Robotics, which we ended up winning.
Congratulations are also due to team 604, Quixilver, for winning the regional chairman's award, and team 4086, Team Tesla, for winning the Rookie All-Star award. Both teams will be advancing to the championship. There were also two international teams at SVR, team 3354 from Mexico, and team 1156 from Brazil.
Our next event is at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri for the FIRST world championship event, from April 25th to 28th. More information will be forthcoming once details are worked out and the championship event comes closer.
Although team 971 will not be attending, many other teams, including 254 (on our alliance at SVR, 2011 world champions), 973 (2011 world champions with 254), 1323 (the host team), 1678 (on the winning alliance with us at Sacramento), 3189 (also on our alliance at Sacramento), and many more, will be attending the Central Valley Regional at Madera High School on April 5th to 7th. This should be an exciting event, and this is its first year of existence.
