It's high season for FRC and we are hard at work on our robot!
We would like to especially thank all our parents and mentors for their help this season. Without them supporting us with everything from design and protyping help to food for potlucks and late nights, we would not be able to get through the season. We hope they all know how valuable they are to us!
Build season is here! We meet Mondays from 6:30-9, Tuesdays-Fridays 2:35-5, Saturdays 10-5, and Sundays 12-5 in room 112. All are welcome! Check the calendar page if you have any questions about meeting times.
Build season begins this Saturday! Come to room 112 at 7:00am to watch the broadcast, eat doughnuts, and see the challenge release!
There will also be a potluck at 5:30!
This weekend Spartan Robotics finished as finalists at MadTown Throwdown! Thanks to everyone who helped make this weekend possible!
971, 254, and 2489 are Calgames champions!
Many thanks to the students, mentors, parents, sponsors, and volunteers that made this happen!
After playing in qualification matches, 971 ranked second right behind the Cheesy Poofs. We accepted their gracious invitation to their alliance, and the two scouting departments combined forces to choose team 2489, the Insomniacs. Everyone did a fantastic job, and we went through all of the elimination matches, winning our final match by just two points!
Watch 971 compete at Calgames, a two-day tournament held at Archbishop Mitty High School this Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22.
Members, parents, friends, and family stop by to support our team!
Last year 971 won the event with alliance partners 254 and 692 (pictured above).

After Club Arena we're super excited to get new members involved! We meet every Wednesday at lunch and after school in room 112 and on Sunday afternoons - check the team calendar for meeting dates and times.
971 would like to thank all mentors, parents, and sponsors who made this 2011 Logomotion season such a success. Stay tuned for our end-of-season barbecue and other plans.
April 1st-2nd Spartan Robotics presented their 2011 robot "Havoc" at the Silicon Valley Regional. Sporting the classic lightning decals and maintaining a record of quick-scoring, "Havoc" stood out at the competition. Throughout the course of the Regional event, many repairs and debugging lessons were learned by 971 students, as the team eventually perfected an uber-tube autonomous and a speedy mini-bot. Using Nexus phones donated by sponsor Google, 971 used a slick student-created scouting application throughout all the matches, helping to make alliance selections smoother.
We continue to make slow but steady progress on our Practice robot. However, we are somewhat hindered by a lack of manpower. This is why we need all team members to come out and help us, so we can finish this quickly and start programming and driver practice. This second robot is crucial to our season and it is important that we finish it soon. Your help is much appreciated!
